France- Day 6: Market and Shoes! That is about it!

Today was pretty darn uneventful! We got up in the morning to go to the Saturday Morning market (which is bigger than the Wednesday morning market). Mom and I walked around on our own, which was nice. She bought me a carton of Strawberries to eat, which was heavenly.  Seriously, the strawberries here just melt in your mouth and are so sweet and full of flavor, it is pretty fantastic. Then we were looking at some little stores as we walked around, and saw a cute dress in one. We walked in and I found an absolutely adorable strappy pair of heeled boots, and I loved them (plus I have been looking for a pair of boots! Thus, I bought those :) After that we headed back to the usual cafe, and met up with my grandpa and uncle. I had a very delicious, super buttery croissant, and a glass of pineapple juice. Then I walked around and took some pictures!

Let me tell you a little bit about what you can find at your average Saturday market in Cahors:

Fresh Fruit

Fresh Vegetables

Flowers

Baked Goods

Homemade Jam

Cheese

Coffee and Tea

The Crepe Lady

Dried Meat

Fresh Meat (So fresh, there was blood on the glass)

Spices

Wine

Whatever This is

Performers....
And then, there is the clothes section
African Clothes

Adorable but overpriced clothes (those scarves were 15 euros. You could get almost identical scarves in any of the stores, for less)

Reasonably priced but only okay clothes

Tacky clothes

Underwear

And pigeons. Always lot's of pigeons.

Anyways, we left not long after I finished taking pictures. After that the day was pretty uneventful. I sat and doodled a bunch, and played games on my phone. I also worked on reading Game of Thrones.  Eventually I started working on a watercolor picture.

I was supposed to go over to some people's house for dinner (I was completely dreading this, as you may have already read) but the girl was sick, and thus dinner never happened.

apparently this isn't an effective way
to cook mussels
It was good, unfortunately I didn't get much food because of this. My family had Snails, mussels, and oysters for dinner. I have a great distaste for these foods, and the texture is just freaky. Thus, I had bread and fruit (And a bunch of leftover granola bars that I had brought for the plane). Everyone was starting to argue, so I went upstairs and just did my own thing.

Also, my college's room assignments were supposed to be posted today, and it is almost 6 pm in Minnesota, and they aren't up yet. it is really frustrating, because I want to knoooooow!

Anyways, that is all.
